About Us

Bridging the Gap Between Clinical Care and Community Compassion

Get to know the dedicated team behind Doxa Cares.

Our Philosophy

Clinical care is just one piece of the puzzle.

True healing happens outside the clinical setting too. It happens through connection with neighbors who understand, education that removes fear and shame, and access to the basic resources that make wellness possible in the first place. Doxa Cares exists to support the whole picture, not just the clinical piece.

The barriers are real

What stands between families and care

Language barriers. Care that doesn’t speak your language can feel out of reach.

Cultural stigma. Fear of judgment keeps many from asking for help.

Lack of insurance. The cost of care puts it out of reach for many families.

Social isolation. Without connection, people struggle alone.

Our Role

We are the front porch to mental wellness.

Doxa Cares is non-clinical. We do not diagnose or treat. Instead, we meet neighbors where they are, in parks, community centers, and schools, offering navigation, stigma reduction, and genuine human connection that helps people find their way to the care they need.

Meet Our Founders

Bridging the gap between clinical expertise and community compassion.

Doxa Cares was founded by two healthcare leaders bringing more than 20 years of combined medical experience to their community.

Andinwe Namanga, Co-Founder of Doxa Cares

Andinwe Namanga, PMHNP-BC

Co-Founder | Resident of Prince George’s County

An immigrant from Cameroon, Andinwe has spent her career serving marginalized populations. Her own experience and deep understanding of the challenges local families face inspired her to help create a warm, non-clinical entry point to mental wellness, one rooted in trust and genuine connection.

Fulgentia Smith, Co-Founder of Doxa Cares

Fulgentia Smith, MPH, PMHNP-BC

Co-Founder | Resident of Montgomery County

Born in Cameroon, Fulgentia brings over two decades of diverse healthcare experience to Doxa Cares. Throughout her career, she witnessed firsthand how cultural stigma, language barriers, and complex systems keep families from the care they deserve, and she believes deeply in a community-first approach to mental wellness.
